ß

Location: Pigeon Forge TN

Hosts: Meltons and Nichols

Campground: The RIdge RV Resort

The September Rally was held at The Ridge RV Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, from Sept 8-12.

Those in attendance were our hosts Paul and Carol Melton and John and Patty Nichols, Baynard and Sherree Barton, Steve and Lynn Bowers, Dave and Evelyn Crabtree, John and Robbie Davis, Gene and Judy Matthews, Steve and Jeannie Miller, John and Rhoda Schoepf, Larry and Mary Shifflett and guests of Paul and Carol from The Carolina Ramblers Doris, Fran, and Ida. All told there were 10 coaches plus Dave and Evelyn in a tiny house since they do not currently have an RV, making eleven

Most arrived on Wednesday. Happy hour was held at the Nichols’ site followed by a country themed potluck dinner consisting of chicken, barbeque, salads, a variety of vegetables and beans, cornbread, beef tips, and peach cobbler.

Thursday morning, we enjoyed a potluck breakfast at the meeting room. We had many yummy casseroles, fruit, and banana bread followed by the business meeting and elections of new officers. Everyone left to pursue activities on their own or with friends. Steve and Lynn Bowers arrived late in the day.

Friday had a sad start to the day for us because Dave and Evelyn and John and Patty had to leave. Those remaining enjoyed another day on their own, shopping, site seeing, etc. Happy hour was held at the Barton’s site followed by our Mexican potluck dinner. We enjoyed a variety of delicious food and great fellowship.

On Saturday some members of the group went to the Car Show; others went shopping, and others relaxed at the campground reading and visiting. We had happy hour in the beautiful meeting room and balcony. The view was awesome. We also had our Pizza Party there. Doris brought delicious brownies for dessert.

Sunday morning Carol served us an early Continental breakfast as it was time for some to depart. John and Robbie left before breakfast to get home to see their grandson who was in from San Diego before he left to go to Guam. Paul and Carol had devotions and most of the members left afterwards. A few stayed another day. The Shifflett’s were staying a few days longer and traveling to The Ark and other venues.

Thanks so very much to our hosts for an awesome rally! The weather was beautiful the entire time and the Campground was great. Everyone seemed to have had a great time.
