September 2015 Rally

Dates: September 17-20, 2015

Location: Dandridge,TN

Hosts: Carol and Paul Melton

Campground: Anchor Down

The September rally held at Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge Tennessee was hosted by Paul and Carol Melton. The weather was fantastic (in the mid 80’s every day). We had a view of Douglas Lake with the mountains in the background. Five coaches arrived on Wednesday and two more on Thursday.

On Thursday afternoon we took a boat tour on Douglas Lake. Later we enjoyed Happy Hour followed by a potluck dinner of delicious meatloaf provided by Carol and many other wonderful dishes made by the rest of us. We finished the evening sitting by the campfire and enjoying s’mores.

On Friday, Timm and Gene played golf. Other members of the group went into Pigeon Forge for some shopping and lunch at The Island. Some met for lunch at the Paula Deen Restaurant. After Happy Hour we went to Angelo’s at the Point for dinner. We ate outside by the Lake. Following dinner we went back to the Melton’s campsite and watched the movie Bucket List, outside by the camp fire.

On Saturday, after eating a delicious breakfast casserole, we caravanned to Bush’s Baked Beans Museum for a tour and lunch. Everyone seemed to have a great time. Later that afternoon, Baynard, Kamal, and Gary kayaked on the lake. Carol provided a great dinner and Timm and Sharon made a wine cake for birthdays and anniversaries.

On Sunday after a wonderful breakfast and devotions, everyone packed up to go home. A great time was had by all.

Attendees included: Paul and Carol Melton, Kamal and Deni Rojiani, Gene and Judy Matthews, Timm and Sharon Seaman, Debbie Robbins and Neil Strong, Baynard and Sherree Barton and their guests Gary and Polly Bailey (Sherree’s sister and husband).
